Welcome to Helsinki!
SLF Congress, Helsinki, Finland, September 23 - 25, 2025.

Helsinki, the capital of Finland, was founded 1550 and is located in Southern Finland on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. The city has approx. 674 000 inhabitants. About 1,2 million people live in the Greater Helsinki area.

Most of the top sights in Helsinki such as museums, Helsinki Cathedral, Central Library, Government Palace, department stores, market square and the nearby Old Market Hall are all accessible by foot. The city center also offers many shopping facilities, restaurants, cafés and bars.
Helsinki was originally founded to establishing trade on the Baltic Sea. The city center was moved to its current location in the 17th century. Towards the end of the 19th century the city industrialized, and the public transport systems and roads were built. Additionally, the paint industry began to develop, leading to the establishment of paint factories.
The SLF Congress will take place at the Hotel Radisson Blu Seaside, nestled next to the lively harbor in a trendy, up-and-coming area in Southern Helsinki. The journey from Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport to the hotel takes about 50 minutes by public transportation. The quickest way from the airport is to take either the I or P train (choose zone ABC, ticket is valid 90 minutes and allows you to transfer between modes of transport within their validity, payment by credit card is accepted) to Helsinki Central Railway Station (the final stop). From there, trams 7T and 9T will take you to the hotel. These trams depart from near the main entrance of the railway station (heading west towards Länsiterminaali/Västra Terminalen) and arrive at the Länsilinkki/Västra länken tram stop, which is just 100 meters from the hotel.
